Widodo wants to materialize the investment plan of the EIB

I welcome the support of the European Commission for the Indonesian Presidency of the G20 and I encourage the realization of cooperation in the energy transition, including the investment plan of the European Investment Bank in Indonesia.

Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), during a meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Monday, called for the realization of the European Bank Investment Plan investment (EIB) for Indonesia.

“I welcome the European Commission’s support for Indonesia’s G20 Presidency and encourage the realization of cooperation in the energy transition, including the European Investment Bank’s investment plan in Indonesia,” he said. he said in a press release issued the same day.

The bilateral meeting between Widodo and von der Leyen took place ahead of the G20 summit meeting on Tuesday.

Widodo said he was seeking to advance negotiations on the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IU-CEPA).

He also expressed concern about trade discrimination against Indonesian products.

During the meeting, Widodo called on the European Union to become a peace partner in the Indo-Pacific.

Meanwhile, according to a statement released by the Presidential Secretariat’s press office, von der Leyen praised Indonesia’s leadership of the G20, which has continued to strive to formulate common solutions to global crises.

Indonesia is considered a trusted partner in various strategic issues, including renewable energy and food security.

the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi; Minister of Commerce, Zulkifli Hasan; and the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Arifin Tasrif, were also present at the meeting.
