Global investment manager appoints chief sustainability officer

Ninety One has announced the appointment of Daisy Streatfeild as Director of Sustainability.

While leading the global investment manager’s net zero strategy, Ms Streatfeild will also work with investment teams to develop sustainability products and clients to help them with their sustainable investing approaches.

Ms Streatfeild joins Ninety One from the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC), where she worked as a program director and helped establish the Paris Aligned Investment Initiative.

Prior to that, she also worked as an advisor for sustainable infrastructure at the Inter-American Development Bank Group.

“As a signatory to the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative, Ninety One is committed to ensuring our portfolios reach net zero emissions by 2050,” said Nazmeera Moola, Ninety One’s Chief Sustainability Officer.

“Given our heritage in emerging markets, we also understand the importance of setting net zero targets that are independent of exclusion and divestment, and that can be assessed in the real economy – if not zero net will remain a pipe dream, unlike the reality we seek.

“Daisy’s level of deep experience in the sustainable finance sector, coupled with her passion for transforming the investment industry for the better, positions her as an ideal member of our team,” she added. .
